They got a lot of cheers from our participants and the wreaths were easy to tackle!
If you are a fan of these, find your seat and I will give you the game plan on how to make them. But if you don't show up for practice next time, you will have to sit the bench!
Start by cutting felt into 2 inch squares. You will need approximately 120 squares, maybe even more.
Purchase a large Styrofoam wreath and gather some glue, a pencil (or chopstick), triangle card stock shapes, a hole puncher, cord or twine and vinyl or stickers with your team letters.
We used printed card stock full of footballs and cut them out individually to use for the pennant flag bunting.
Now that the team is all warmed up, we are ready to set the clock and start the game!
Wrap a felt square around the end of a pencil.
Dip the felt into glue. A little dab will do.
Now press the felt into the wreath.
Alternate the colors and keep going. Cover the surface of the wreath, the outside, and the inside. Take a water break if you need one...this wreath may take you into overtime!
To make the pennant flag bunting, place your letters on the triangle flags, and punch holes in the flags and card stock footballs. String them onto thin cord or twine and secure them to the Styrofoam using straight pins.
Now that everyone has made their goal and scored a Winning Team Wreath to take home or to the tailgate, the feeling of victory is all around...
Thank you to everyone who attended the workshop. We make a great team and I had a blast being your coach!
